Hi my name is Paul Azzurro I am the owner of Chessdvds.com I started watching
Chess videos back in the early eighties G.M. Mednis, Wolf Right angle videos series and Pro chess Mentor by Yasser Seirawan. I remember reading a claim you can retain 70% more by watching a video over reading a book. After watching them I was amazed on how much I was able to retain even today I can remember parts of the videos I watched 20 years ago. However I can't recall anything I read in the hundreds of books I purchased.
I have taken lessons from several Grandmasters and learn a lot however when I finished my lessons whatever I did not retain was lost. That is why I loved watching videos I could watch them at my own pace as many times as needed and without having to pay a 100 dollars an hour.
I believe Coaches are needed to review your games and point out improvements. The rest can be learned faster at a fraction of the cost just by just watching a DVD on any subject You need help with.
The Grandmasters and International Masters on these DVDs do all the work for you just follow what they recommend.
On G.M. Romans DVDs he recommends a lot of original material that he created and uses to win his own games. Susan Polgar did a fantastic job on her endgames series and the Colle-Zukertort System. Daniel Kings French defense is great and easy to learn.
There are over 200 DVDs to choose from I personally had 50 DVDs produced on subjects I wanted to learn.
Grandmaster video Magazine is a fantastic set of DVDs containing priceless footages from tournaments in the nineties.
I became such a fan of chess videos I started Chessdvds 5 years ago and produced over 50 dvds
I purchased over 160 video titles from Chessvideo.com 2 years ago and coverted them to dvd.
So for a fraction of the cost you now can receive private lessons from the Grandmasters.
I personally guarantee you will improve watching theses dvds my rating improved over 400 points.
